Is This the Best Brunch in Quebec City? | Our Review of Le Clan’s $36 Tasting Menu

Quebec City is a foodie paradise. From historic cobblestone streets to world-class cuisine, every corner offers a new culinary adventure. On our most recent trip, we were on a mission: to find the best restaurant in Quebec City for brunch.

Our journey led us back to an old favorite, Le Clan, a renowned spot blending modern techniques with iconic local Quebec ingredients.

We tried their remarkable $36 CAD brunch tasting menu—an absolute steal for the sheer creativity and quality of food we received. Watch our full video review below to see the dishes in action, or continue reading for our top highlights!

Highlight: Traditional Food, Reimagined

The menu at Le Clan is anything but ordinary. It captures the spirit of French-Canadian cuisine while surprising you at every turn.

1. The "Poutine Revisited" (A Potato Masterpiece!) You can't talk about food in Quebec without mentioning poutine. But Chef Stéphane Modat's team takes it to a whole new level. This "Poutine Revisited" is a spectacular, layered creation of potato, cheese, and more potato, fried lightly. It’s served in a small jar, topped with both a traditional poutine sauce and a rich béarnaise sauce. It’s a completely different twist on breakfast potatoes, yet somehow tastes familiar and incredibly satisfying.

2. The Pamosa (No, Not Nano-Banana!) Yes, in the video, we had a moment of confusion with the menu transcription, but the drink itself was undeniable. Forget the classic mimosa; Le Clan serves a Pamosa, which is a sparkling beverage made with local apples. It’s light, crisp, and the perfect start to a Quebec City brunch.

Creativity on Every Plate

The tasting menu is a journey of flavors, featuring inventive combinations you won't find anywhere else. We also experienced:

  • Wagyu Beef Hot Dogs served with a surprising apple ketchup and hot mustard.

  • Turkish Eggs that provided a perfect savory balance.

  • The Snow Goat with Squash and the rich Borivage Pork Sandwich.

  • And to finish, a colossal Brioche with cream cheese ice cream that left us happily full.

Is Le Clan Worth It?

Absolutely. Whether you are planning your entire Quebec City travel guide or just looking for where to eat in Vieux-Québec (Old Quebec), Le Clan is a must-visit spot. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, making it perfect for a special occasion or just a memorable meal in the city.

This restaurant continues to earn our "all-time favorite" award in Quebec City!
