Getting LOST in Gamcheon Village, Busan! 🗺️ (Viral Egg Sandwich & The Little Prince)
Welcome back to the blog! Today’s adventure was a mix of "Instagram vs. Reality." We headed to the famous Gamcheon Culture Village, but not before fueling up on the sandwich that’s been all over our feeds.
If you're planning a trip to Busan in 2026, grab a coffee and read our "struggle guide" so you don't make the same mistakes we did! 🇰🇷
🍳 First Stop: The Egg Drop Hype
We started our morning searching for Egg Drop. Even in 2026, this place is still a staple. We hit up the Seomyeon branch, but they are all over Nampo and Haeundae too.
Is it worth it? YES. The brioche is buttery, and the eggs are literally like clouds.
Kevin’s Order: Classic Americano Sandwich (Simple, clean, delicious).
Cat’s Order: Bacon Double Cheese on Brioche (Heavy on the sweet mayo, just how I like it).
Price Check: Expect to pay between ₩6,000 – ₩8,500 ($4.50 - $6.50 USD) per sandwich now.
🧭 The Struggle: Navigation & "The Wrong Stop"
Here is where things got... interesting. As you saw in the vlog, Google Maps is still a bit "hit or miss" for walking directions in Korea. We highly recommend downloading Naver Map or KakaoMap before you leave the hotel!
We accidentally missed our bus transfer and ended up hopping off at the bottom of the hill.
Warning: If you get off at the wrong stop like we did, prepare for a 15-minute vertical hike that will leave you questioning your fitness levels. 🥵
🏘️ Hello, Gamcheon Culture Village!
Once we finally reached the top (and found a bathroom—thank goodness for the Tourist Information Center!), the view made everything worth it. It’s like a LEGO town built into a mountain.
📍 Essential Info (2026 Update):
Admission: Free!
Stamp Map: Still only ₩2,000. It’s the best way to explore the hidden alleys and you get cute postcards at the end.
The Little Prince: The line for the photo with the statue was almost an hour long. We decided to skip it for a better view (see our pro-tip below!).
🚌 How to Get There (The Right Way)
Don't be like us. Follow these steps to save your legs:
Subway: Take Line 1 to Toseong Station (Exit 6).
Bus Stop: Walk straight and turn right at the junction to find the bus stop in front of the Pusan National University Hospital.
The Bus: Catch the green village buses: Saha 1-1, Seo-gu 2, or Seo-gu 2-2.
The Drop-off: Stay on until Gamcheon Elementary School. This drops you at the very top entrance!
💡 Kevin & Cat’s Pro-Tip: Skip the Little Prince Line!
If you want that iconic shot of the village without standing in the sun for 45 minutes, head to Cafe Avant Garde. It’s located near the entrance. If you go to the outdoor terrace, you get a higher, unobstructed panoramic view of the entire village. You get the same "Little Prince" vibe, but with a cold iced latte in your hand and 100% less stress.
