What to Eat in Busan: 3 Must-Try Spots & The Best Korean BBQ in Haeundae 🇰🇷

Busan is a city that truly has it all—stunning coastal views, vibrant energy, and some of the best food we’ve ever had in South Korea. In our latest vlog, we spent the day exploring the Haeundae area, walking the boardwalk, and embarking on a mission to find the most delicious bites in the city.

If you’re planning a trip to Busan, you’ll want to save these three spots!

1. Alice Donuts: A Sweet Start

Our day kicked off with a lucky find thanks to some local feline friends! Alice Donuts lured us in with the promise of fresh, sugary treats. We tried their mini donuts (an absolute steal at about $0.70 for a whole bag) and their heartier butter donuts ($4).

  • The Verdict: The sugar is like snow, and the donuts are perfectly fluffy. It’s the perfect light snack before a long walk.

2. Jayondo Sag (Salted Bread): The Local Favorite

After a beautiful 45-minute walk along the Haeundae boardwalk and taking in the sunset from the Skywalk, we headed to Jayondo Sag. This place is incredibly popular on Naver (the Korean search engine), and for good reason. They specialize in one thing: Salted Bread.

For $12, you get a set of four warm, buttery buns.

  • The Experience: They use a massive amount of high-quality butter and a perfect sprinkle of salt. It’s easily some of the best bread we’ve ever tasted.

3. Gwangun Mak: Aged Pork Perfection

For the main event, we headed to Gwangun Mak, a restaurant that specializes in dry-aged pork. This isn’t your average BBQ; they age the pork for 168 hours to ensure a rich, deep flavor.

Why we loved it:

  • Grill Masters: The staff cooks everything for you to perfection right at your table.

  • The Set: For about $56, we got a full grill set of aged pork, which came with unlimited side dishes (banchan), including some incredibly spicy mustard greens and pickled green kimchi.

  • The Sides: Don't skip the Kimchi Fried Rice with cheese—it’s the perfect way to round out the meal (and cool down your mouth if you overdo it on the spice!).

Travel Tip: Many Korean BBQ spots leave you smelling like smoke, but the best ones (like Gwangun Mak) provide fabric spray at the exit so you can head back to your hotel smelling like a spa instead of grilled pork!
